Client Opportunity-Controller

A well-established, family owned and operated farm located in Lynden, Washington is seeking a team-oriented leader, problem solver, and strategic thinker to manage all accounting and finance activities. This is a newly created position with a successful and growing company. Responsibilities include: • Establishing and/or Maintaining Financial Policies and Procedures • Monitoring Compliance and Ensuring Accuracy of Financial/Accounting Data • Development of Budgets and Tracking of Actual Costs • Forecasting and Cash Management • Financial Analysis and Reporting including Comparison to Industry Benchmarks and Crop Details • Accounts Receivable • Reconciliation and Payment of Equipment and Property Loans • Human Resources (administrative compliance, personnel management) • Management of staff responsible for AP/Payroll and Reception • Insurance Renewals (Company and Medical) Essential Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance or Business; CPA preferred • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience with strong financial reporting knowledge; cost accounting experience a plus • Agriculture industry experience desirable • Previous management/supervisory experience required • Thorough understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), systems and methods • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Quickbooks • Proven initiative and follow-through with drive for constant improvement • Outstanding communication skills This is a full-time position.
