Hi, I'm Daniel.
A graduate of Dordt University (formerly Dordt College) in Sioux Center, Iowa, I joined Larson Gross in 2010 following a decade of experience in public accounting with a large West Coast firm. For five years I oversaw all financial statement services we delivered as the firm’s Audit & Attest director. More recently, I transitioned into my current role of Chief Risk Officer, responsible for identifying, analyzing, and responding to potential threats that could impact Larson Gross.
As an audit partner, I specialize in serving privately owned large enterprises and complex entity structures. Being the relationship owner and main point of client service for some of the firm’s largest manufacturing clients, I understand the industry nuances, challenges, and financial opportunities.
In addition to my financial statement expertise, I am Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), a professional designation awarded to certified public accountants with expertise in valuation. Knowing key valuation drivers (hint: cash flow, growth, and risk) is beneficial for financial reporting purposes and valuing closely-held business interest for estate planning and taxation purposes.
I am the former treasurer for Northwest Chapter of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and current treasurer for Envision Ministries and our church.
Me and my wife, Tanya, have three college and high school aged children: Amber, Chantel, and Micah. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym with my kids, volunteering at church, and traveling to see family.
